Don't underestimate your kids

This is what I learned yesterday: Don't underestimate my kids. We went on a hike last night for family hour. We had a blast. I told Lance not to expect too much from the kids. I brought the stroller for Bart and Blake and I was hoping Lincoln and Molli would just be able to keep up. We went up by 2nd Damn and did part of the Crimson trail. So we got to the trail and Blake decided he wanted to walk or should I say sprint the trail. He sprinted, uphill, on the trail for a good 45 minutes. Lance and I could not believe it. He wasn't even winded! Molli ran most of the time too. She is very competitive and was determined to be the first to wherever. I can tell Molli and Blake take after Lance. They weren't really concerned about looking at the view or enjoying the walk. To the three of the them the hike was really a race. Lincoln, Bart and I kept each other company. We walked briskly up the trail and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a wonderful night. The kids kept an eye out for bears and I kept an eye out for snakes. I learned a lot about how wonderful my kids are and I absolutely loved watching Lance sprint the trail with the kids.

How is it Fair?

I am just wondering how this is fair? We, Lance and I, have this battle every night. Blake decides he wants to wake up in the middle of the night and sleep on my head. I cannot for the life of me see why he thinks this is more comfortable than his bed. For one, our bed is very uncomfortable. You know the beds that bend in the middle, that is our bed. Also, Blake freezes. I know he has to be cold because he is huddled on top of my head without any covers. When I realize he is on my head and decide to put him in his bed he will throw a major temper tantrum. Last night for 2 1/2 hours I tried to be like Super Nanny. Very firm. I would get up, bring Blake to his bed, tuck him back in and go back to bed. He would then get up screaming at the top of his lungs throwing his body around in the hallway. He would eventually make it to my room where he would continue to scream. This ritual went on and on. Eventually he stayed asleep. Well, it is now 10:00 am. He is still asleep. I have done everything to wake him up. We took Molli to school. I sat him up on the couch. I've tried and tried to wake him up. No, he is dead asleep. Now Lance and I are not. We are awake, with another night under our belts of not sleeping. I am just wondering how this is fair? We decided that even Super Nanny could not help us.

Happy Saturday!

What a fun Saturday! We had a garage sale this morning and it went very well. The kids were awesome and I made some quick cash on things I was just going to take to the DI anyway. I must say that I love garage sales! Lance also put up the fence in the backyard. We are totally fenced in!!!!! It feels so good and safe. He did an awesome job on it. I love that it is so warm outside. I could do without the wind but I won't complain. Anything is better than cold and snow/sleet/rain. I love Saturdays!

Baby Animal Days

We just got back from Baby Animal Days. What a great place! The kids, with the exception of Lincoln, had such a fun time. Blake was so excited by all the animals and all the adventures he got to experience.

We started with the pony rides. Molli and Blake both went and loved it. We then went on a tractor ride. There was the fun petting zoo and a cute and educational treasure hunt. The kids got their faces painted. Molli even went Muttin' Bustin'. She was so excited and did a great job. We got to pet baby cows, ducks, pigs, chicks, ponies, sheep and goats.

We had so much fun today. It was also fun because Audrie was able to go with us. Hopefully she will still want to have children after our outing.:>) I will try to post pictures of our adventure soon. Audrie was our main photographer so I will have to wait until she gives us some pics.

Fishing

What a killer of a deal! I signed Molli up for fishing lessons with Logan city. It was only $5 and it is a 6 week program. It is once a week for 1 1/2 hours. She learned how to cast her line tonight. She was able to fish. She got a few bites but did not catch anything. She had a fun time, despite being cold. It will be fun to take her fishing at Skylar Pond this summer.

Balling Update

Well, I haven't written much because I kind of feel like not much has happened. We just kind of go day to day around here. Half the time I don't even know what day it is because they all seem to be the same. I did just get finished having a meeting with a lady from the Girl Scouts of America. Molli really wants to be a brownie. I was a brownie and I remember really enjoying it. Molli has been so excited. They of course didn't have a troop she could join so I am going to have to start my own troop. In order to do this I have to find people to be in the troop as well as a co-leader. If any one knows of any girls who want to be in the troop or who wants to be a leader with me just let me know. We are very excited about it. I am thinking we will meet twice a month.

Molli lost two teeth in the past week. I love the toothless grin. I think it is very cute. You never realize how small their baby teeth are until they fall out. Lincoln is doing well. He is talking up a storm and we are working on his numbers. I am trying to find a summer program I can do at home with him. Good thing my Mom has such good homeschooling contacts. I am hoping she will know of something awesome for him. Blake is pretty feisty lately. He doesn't put up with much from Lincoln. Bart is growing so fast. He wants so badly to walk. He gets up on his hands and knees to crawl but just plops down. When you go to sit him down he locks his legs so you will let him stand. He loves holding onto the couch and standing.

Lance's truck runs great. He has done a really good job on it. It is nice to have two vehicles now. Quite the luxury.
