Family Reunion

The family reunion is over.   It seemed like the past few months I was spending any extra time I had planning the reunion. That is why I am blogging again. Things are back to normal.  The reunion went very well.  It was great to see everyone again.  I am still overwhelmed by how awesome everyone was to come out here.  

 I love them all very much. 

I am sure that I will blog more about the reunion in the future.  I just have to wait until some relatives decide to send me some pictures.  I was unable to take any pictures the whole time!  Crazy! 

Once I get some pics I will post about the whole reunion.

Softball and Camp Fife

Molli has been looking forward to playing softball since forever.  This was her first year.  She was put in as pitcher for her first game.  It was a little overwhelming but she still had fun.  Because of some rain and the coach handing out the wrong schedule the team was only able to play a few games.  She had fun playing the ones they played though.  She felt she was strongest at 2nd base.

Molli was also given the opportunity to go to Camp Fife.  She tried to go down the zip line without a harness, which scared the living daylights out of people.  The instructor caught her though, got her harnessed up, and she went down without a problem.  She was also able to shoot a bow and arrow, shoot a gun, do some leather crafting, and she even bought herself a pocket knife.  She had a blast!

We like to go on hikes together.  It always feels good to spend time outside.  Sunday always seems to be the day we go since that is when Lance is home.  The kids really have a lot of fun being able to run free.    Although I have to admit that the Wind Cave hike took a toll on Lincoln.  He always makes sure we are not going on a really long hike now.  :>)

End of the School Year

Molli and Lincoln both had a great year at school.  Molli excelled at every subject.  It is always great when you go to the parent teacher conference and we are trying to make up things for Molli to work on.  She is such a sweetie and I have always been so proud of her for working so hard on her school work.  She diligently reads every night.  This is a picture of Molli with her puppet Ernie the Eagle.  She made Ernie at the end of the school year.

Lincoln also worked very hard this year.  He ended up going to full day Kindergarten.  Lincoln had so many teachers that it was hard for me to keep up with all of them!  Lincoln loved Mrs. Palmer.  She was so patient and sweet with him.  I found her to be a great ally in helping me to decide the best things for Lincoln to do this year.  He also had Mr.John, Mrs. Droesbeke, Miss Stephanie, Miss Roseanne, and a slew of other helpers throughout the day.  Lincoln loved playing with the kids at school and by the end of the year he was becoming pretty independent.  The picture above is of Lincoln with a dinosaur poster he made in Mrs. Droesbeke's class at the end of the year.

Baby chicks

We decided to get some baby chicks.  We started out with Kathy (black) and Michelle (yellow).  It only took a few weeks to realize the Kathy was probably really a  Kevin.  We needed to get Michelle some friends before Kevin had to leave.  So we added Brittany and Nicole. 

Molli has become quite the sweet mother to those chicks.  She loves them very much and can't wait for them to start laying eggs.  Lance took pity on us and helped us build a chicken coop.  I love it.  We move it around the yard every day so that one spot never smells stinky.  The chickens love their home and prefer to be in it than out. 

We will let you know when they start to lay eggs.  :>)

Easter 2010

We had a fun Easter this year.  Easter fell on Conference Sunday, so even though I made Easter outfits, we didn't actually wear them on Easter.  :>) 

We colored a lot of Easter eggs and had a fun Easter egg hunt.  In the picture to the right all of the kids seem very happy, except for Lincoln, who was refusing to look at me because he was crying so hard.  Molli is holding up the golden egg, which she found.  This is why Lincoln is crying.  He was devastated that he did not find the egg.
Every year the Easter bunny hides a golden egg with $5 in it.  It is hidden in a very hard spot.  It took Molli about 20 minutes to find it.  All of the kids were about to find it when Molli spotted it.  She was very excited. 

The other highlight of the season was getting a package from Grandma and Grandpa Paxton.  They sent the kids some bubble blowers which they thought were incredibly cool.  They had fun running around playing with them.
