All Three are Laying!

All of our chickens are now laying eggs.  The kids love how different the eggs look.  I thought they might be a little freaked out by green and brown eggs, but they love them.  Blake would eat a couple hard boiled eggs a day if I would cook them.  I love having the chickens.  We have a fun time taking care of them and the kids love getting the eggs out of the coop every day. 

Dirt hill

The dirt hill in the back yard has become the bmx track.  They spent a big chunk of the afternoon riding their bikes up and down the hill.  Lincoln let me know that I could no longer take that dirt for my gardens! :>)
I just want to say how grateful I am for my hard working kids.  We went to Benson on Saturday and started getting wood for the next winter.  The kids worked so hard!  It doesn't stop there.  They continue to help unload and stack.  Their work ethic has always amazed me.  I love you kiddies so much!

April Fool's Day

We were all prepared this year for the April Fools attack.  Lance and I stayed up on 3/31 setting up traps and jokes for the kids in the morning.  Molli and Lincoln decided to get up early to set their traps.  Lance and I enjoyed laying in bed listening to the kids run into the saran wrap on the door, tripping on fish line that would drop things from the door, lifting toilet seat covers to discover alien faces and so on.   This did not deter the kids from fulfilling their missions.  They sabotaged my Diet pepsi, hid fake snakes in random place throughout the house and did the classic adjust water faucets so that mom gets soaking wet.  It was a fun morning.

That night I decided to trick the kids with their dinner.  They were so excited that I put cake on their plates for dinner that I guess they weren't too aware that I was taking pics of their disappointment.  I told Blake and Bart to dig into their cake, which was really a sponge covered in frosting.  After the disappointment of not really getting cake for dinner wore off I told them to eat their fish sticks.  Well, some of the fish sticks were not real either.  I have to give props to Lincoln.  As soon as he sat down he separated the fake fish sticks from the real.  Molli dug into them and was a little surprised.  It was a fun day.  Gotta love kids!

Livin' on the Edge

     One of the things I loved most about Lance when we were dating was how adventurous he was.    To this day, adventure and adrenaline is still what makes him tick.  One of his favorite things to do is go snowmobiling.  As his wife I think it is my duty to spend my time worrying about him the whole time he is gone.  I see why I worry when I look at this picture!  Is this not crazy yet insanely cool at the same time??  As Lance's wife I have to struggle between the worry and the extreme pride I have in saying that this adrenaline junky is my cute husband.
   What I am told is that he has tamed down a lot in his old age.  :>)  I am glad no one took pictures of his wild days, because I might have passed out.  Lance says this is about a 20+ foot drop.  I know this was taken around Tony Grove.
   Don't tell Lance, but I have to admit that once I know he is safe and sound, I love to hear about his snowmobile trips.  I think he has more guts in his little pinky than I will ever have. Whenever I hear about his snowmobile adventures, I always think about our first date, where of course we went snowmobiling.  I am a lot more reserved now, and don't feel quite as confident on the snowmobile, but I love that my husband is. 

Lincoln's 7th Birthday

Lincoln has such a fun birthday.  I have had  a lot of people tell me that Lincoln will hate having his birthday on Christmas, but it always turns out to be the best day for a party!  I asked Lincoln what he wanted to do for his birthday this year.  He told me he wanted us to go out for a fancy dinner at......Village Inn.   I guess if it is not delivered in a bag then that counts as a fancy dinner. :>)  

We had to have our fancy dinner on the 24th for obvious reasons.  First we went ice skating and had a lot of fun.  Then we headed over to Village Inn where we enjoyed burgers and chicken on a plate.  :>}  Lincoln got a free piece of pie which he saved for later.

We celebrated the rest of his birthday on the evening of the 25th.  We ate a yummy crocodile cake, had a ham, opened presents, and destroyed a pinata.  It was a lot of fun.  Lincoln got a cool nerf gun and a cool planet poster.  

I want to tell Lincoln how much we love him.  Lincoln you are such a sweet and inquisitive little boy.  I think you know more about certain things than I do.  I love that your mind is always turning and thinking.  You have such big ideas for such a young kid.  You have done such a great job at school the past year.  You continue to work hard, whether you are hauling wood or working on school work.  We love you so much!  

Happy Birthday!

Blake's 5th Birthday

 

 

 

My sweet Blake turned 5 in December!  Blake has been looking forward to turning 5 for a long time.  For Blake this meant that big and better things were going to happen for him.  He would now be able to lose teeth and put them under the pillow for a big payday.  He would now be able to go to school like Molli and Lincoln.   He would now be able to read and write like a big kid.  Although these things did not happen overnight like he had hoped he still had a great day and is looking forward to those things happening this year!  :>)

Blake wanted to go to the Fun Park for his birthday party.  We had a lot of fun playing in the Soft play and playing video games.  Blake was very excited about his gifts.  He had been asking for everything under the sun for his birthday.  However, he was very happy with getting the Hot Wheels track!   He was very excited about his cake.  He found reindeer cupcakes in a magazine and he thought it just looked so great.  So I tried my best to replicate the reindeer.  It turned out good enough to eat.  Overall, it was a fun day.

I just want to say to Blake how proud I am of him.  He is everyone's best friend.  I love how easily he can talk to people.  I love how his smiling eyes light up a room.  I love how excited he was for his birthday and how willing he was to share with his siblings for the whole day.  I love all of the notes that you draw for me and everyone that you love.  You are truly a blessing.  You make me smile everyday.  I love you so much!!!  I hope this year is as exciting and fun as you hope it will be.
